About Me

My approach is collaborative, as together we investigate what is working in your life and what is no longer serving you. I have a strong background in the arts, which emphasizes creativity and play as a vehicle for change. When working with clients, I integrate this creative background with techniques in mindfulness, body-centered awareness, and expressive arts.

I am passionate, and I approach my practice with warmth, humor, and curiosity toward whatever is discovered. I am particularly experienced in working with people to overcome eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, low self-worth, addiction, and career transitions.

In my private practice, I currently see adults, teens  and children in San Francisco, as well as facilitate teen groups. My past experience includes working with youth and families in schools and private settings, as well as facilitating groups around identity, authenticity and body image.

If you have any questions or concerns about psychotherapy, I welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

My Therapeutic Approaches
While these are approaches I offer, I work on an individual basis, dependent on your personal preferences and needs.

Individuals

Expressive Arts

Talking may be limiting at times, as most emotional responses come from the nonverbal part of your brain. Using the arts, creativity and play can help to access deeper emotions and inner resources. Neuroscience has shown that using art and imagination activate the same part of your brain where trauma and preverbal responses are stored. This includes sand tray therapy, drama therapy, movement and visual arts.
